This 1953 Chevrolet 3100 pickup is the result of a fresh, comprehensive frame-off restoration that touched nearly every part of the truck, from an extensive list of new body panels — including the hood, fenders, firewall, cab floor, running boards, bed, and tailgate — to a fully modernized chassis, drivetrain, and interior.
Built on a cleaned and properly prepped S10 frame with a Code 504 conversion package, the truck rides on entirely new suspension, steering, and brake components. Front disc and rear drum brakes were installed with all-new lines, a master cylinder, Wilwood proportioning valve, and booster, along with a Lokar floor-mounted emergency brake system. New front coil springs and control arms, along with new rear leaf springs, round out a chassis built to drive as good as it looks.
Power comes from a 305 V8 fitted with a new Edelbrock Performer intake and carburetor, aluminum air filter, valve covers, and oil pan. Sanderson ceramic headers paired with polished MagnaFlow mufflers provide a great sound, while a Holley frame-mounted electric pump and new steel fuel tank ensure reliable fuel delivery. A new aluminum water pump, radiator, and March serpentine pulley system keep everything running cool, all backed by an automatic overdrive transmission and a GM 10-bolt rear axle.
Every electrical component is new as well, including a Painless wiring harness with a cleverly hidden fuse box, a Summit Racing HEI distributor, and a Kenwood receiver paired with Rockford Fosgate speakers. Inside, Procar seats, a custom center console, TMI door panels, new Vintage gauges, and full sound-deadening give the cabin a comfortable, modern feel while staying true to the truck’s classic character.
